Hey everyone,

Different feel with the latest track, Zero Days. While most of my songs dive down bunny-holed political themes and are rap-driven, Zero Days is a soulful break—a chance for both my audience and me to breathe, reflect, and give less f*ks. Lets face it Clown World can take it’s toll.

It’s emo/soul but in typical fashion, I couldn’t help but weave in the issue of trust horizons and betrayal that mirror the pressures and information systems we cop daily.

I have the pleasure of introducing Dave 'Old Man' Sour, my collaborator who brings his unique and husky-arsed voice to the table. He absolutely smashed the brief -the theme of cheating, comparing it to a zero-day exploit—stealing your secrets or even your heart when you least expect it. Also shout out to Visceral Adventure for the last collaboration - she made such a good video for On A Watch List - check it out.

With lyrics like, “Trust her like she’s Billy Gates / My vulnerability / Data Breach opened me,” I’m still connecting the dots between our suss tech systems and the lack of trust in social/societal relationships. Just like how a zero-day exploit can expose your personal data, grasping love can feel like it leaves you with back-door access(no not like that!), vulnerable to betrayal. Yes I am following on from my recent track On A Watch List. I consider it a response. Or the Yin to Watch Lists’ Yang.

At its core, Zero Days is a broken-hearted love song, (yes before they came for those who wanted to be left alone I was happy to be off-grid and to some extent outside the system and used to write ‘normy’ songs). But even here, I’m still bangin’ the drum that you can’t separate life from the political. Whether it’s tech companies, intelligence or relationships, everything ties back to the laws, expectations, and systems we navigate every day. Oh and Banking families. Always those mongrels. Building relationships on poor foundations makes weak and unreliable structures. So in the face of liars, arrangements and countermeasures must be made.

So even though this is a different vibe for me, I’ll still slip one in the drink (kidding - thin-skin). Give it a listen, and let me know how it resonates with you.
